StageofLife.com hosts monthly writing contests for high school students and college students (open to international students, too).  Answer the real-world writing prompt below to share your thoughts and experiences as we change the world, one story at a time.

Submit Essay:  

Eleanor Roosevelt said, “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”  For our February 2015 writing contest, we want you to write a personal essay that explores how this quotation resonates in your world.

What we want for the contest: In 500 words or less, using the blue "Submit Essay" button, write a personal essay about what Eleanor Roosevelt’s quotation “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent” means to you.

Title of Essay:  
When you submit your essay, title it as:  "Eleanor Roosevelt Quotation: ______"

Include the phrase "Eleanor Roosevelt Quotation" as the beginning of your essay title, but then make the rest of your story title unique.

Examples...

  • Eleanor Roosevelt Quotation: A waterfall of verbal abuse cannot break me
  • Eleanor Roosevelt Quotation: Myself, My Power
  • Eleanor Roosevelt Quotation: Believing that I can be the change that I wish to see

Rules:  
Three simple rules for the Stage of Life student writing contest.

1) This is a Non-Fiction essay contest.
2)  Essays are 500 words or less.
3)  Essay must be your original work.
